Want a horse by Aerie Hills?
I do have a limited number of spots I take.
Please email me if you have something in mind.
I hate writing all this, but it has to be done. A price guide is below. Thanks :)
Accepted payments/terms
Time payments are always welcome. I usually require 25% down, with the rest by the time the model is finished. No model will be shipped without final payment. I do take checks (must clear), non-CC Paypal and money orders.
If at any time you wish me to return your model before it is finished, it will be returned minus the 25% deposit (or minus the amount of work I've completed). If you feel the custom is taking too long, please let me know. I try to set reasonable timelines, and make sure they are okay with all parties before beginning, yet things do come up that push back deadlines. Along the way, I try to keep customers as up to date as I can, and if something does come up, they will be notified immediately. Before shipment, final photos will be sent to make sure everything is approved. If upon arrival the custom is not satisfactory, I will redo it for no charge except any additional shipping.

Shipping/Handling
Standard postal shipping is included for the continental US. Insurance is extra, however, depending on the price of the horse. You can look at the Post Office website for prices. You can also request FedEx/UPS shipment, but there will be an additional charge depending on the rate. Please ask about international postage.
I pack my horses very well with cloth, bubble wrap, and often a pony bag to fit your horse. I am not responsible after horses leave my hands. I am not responsible for lost items. If a commission arrives broken, I am happy to fix it for only the price of shipping.

Prepping
Basic prepping is included in the price. I prep all my own models, and it had never failed me yet. This includes work such as seam sanding on an OF Breyer, or prep work on a non-raw resin. I can do more intricate prep work (including stripping, raw-prepping, or rebuilding), but this costs an additional price usually around $25.

Resculpting
Resculpting is one of the reasons why I started customizing horses, and I'm happy to do it. If you have a horse that you'd like resculpted, please contact me and let me know what you're thinking. Prices vary greatly depending on the work needed, so I don't put a price guide.

Turnaround time
I keep my prices reasonable for two reasons. One, I believe anyone in the hobby deserves to purchase a top-LSQ paintjob. And two, I cannot guarentee a quick turnaround time. I am finishing graduate school, work as web producer for a weekly magazine, and many other things outside the hobby. I will let you know upfront what my schedule looks like, and don't take on too many commission projects at one time. Nevertheless, it might take me several months to complete a traditional-sized horse.
If you want your commission for a particular show, or are in a hurry, I will try to accomodate you. And, I always communicate with owners on how their horse is progressing. Please be patient. |
